Do you have something specific in mind you'd like to study? Then this class is for you. You can send me a message or book the free 15 minute trial to let me know what it is you would like to study. I will then prepare the class according to your needs!
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
Understand common interview questions and how to respond to them.
Demonstrate improved interviewing skills, including body language and communication.
Conduct a mock interview with the student
Begin the lesson by discussing with students their experiences with job interviews. Ask questions like:
1. Have you ever had a job interview?
2. What was the most challenging part of the interview for you?
3. Have you ever been asked difficult questions in an interview? CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU FIND DIFFICULT ?
Introduction to Interview Preparation (15 minutes)
1. Present an overview of the importance of interview preparation.
2. Discuss why employers conduct interviews and what they look for in candidates.
. Common Interview Questions (20 minutes)
Display a list of common interview questions on the whiteboard or through a digital presentation.
Go through each question, explaining what the question is asking and how to structure a good response.
Encourage students to take notes on the questions and sample responses.
4. Interview Dos and Don'ts (15 minutes)
Discuss common dos and don'ts for interviews, including:
Dress code
Punctuality
Body language
Eye contact
Speaking clearly
Asking questions at the end of the interview
Encourage students to share any cultural differences they are aware of regarding these aspects.
5. Mock Interview Activity (25 minutes)
Pair up students and have them take turns conducting mock interviews.
Provide each pair with a set of common interview questions to practice.
Allow each student to play the role of both the interviewer and the interviewee.
After each interview, provide constructive feedback on their performance.
6. Group Discussion (10 minutes)
Bring the class back together for a group discussion.
Ask students to share their experiences from the mock interviews.
Encourage them to discuss what they did well and where they need improvement.
7. Additional Resources (5 minutes)
Provide students with a list of online resources, books, or videos they can use to further improve their interview skills.
8. Homework (5 minutes)
Assign homework, which may include practicing responses to common interview questions or researching a specific company for a job they are interested in.
9. Wrap-up (5 minutes)
Summarize the key points of the lesson.
Ask students if they have any questions or concerns related to interview preparation.
