Meet and greet
Description
Objectives:
To introduce and practice common greetings in English
To practice introducing oneself and asking about others
Greet the student/s and ask them to introduce themselves.
Write common greetings (e.g. "Hi", "Hello", "Good morning/afternoon/evening")
Show the PowerPoint presentation with vocabulary and sample dialogues for greetings and introductions.
Practice the dialogues with the student/s in pairs or small groups.
Ask them to introduce themselves and ask about their partner in a short conversation.
Close the lesson by summarizing the key points and asking the student/s to practice the greetings and introductions in their free time.
Assessment:
Observing student's participation in the conversation activity
Listening to the students' pronunciation and use of vocabulary
