Description

An idiom is a phrase where the words together have a meaning that is different from the dictionary definitions of the individual words. Because of this, idioms can be quite hard for ELS students and learners to understand them. 

Despite their complexity, idioms can be very fun to learn.  In this session, I will teach you a variety of idiomatic expressions in the below fields:

  • Food
  • Colors
  • Time
  • Weather
  • Idiomatic Expressions in British and American English 
Objectives: 

To indentify the appropriate idiomatic phrases and expressions and their correct meaning and usage rules. 

Methodology:

The student will be given an extensive list of idiomatic phrases in a distinguished field. The student will read the phrases and use them accordingly when answering my questions on the subject. 

** Depending on the student, homework will be given.
*** This lesson is suitable for intermediate level.
