Description

Level: Beginner (Side by Side Book 1)

Method: Presentation Practice Production:

Student will be introduced to introduction vocabulary and its uses.The student will then be encouraged to use the vocabulary in various sentence structures with guidance. Finally, The teacher and student will take part in roll-play, using the vocabulary and sentence structures provided with the freedom to introduce their own sentences as well.

 Target Language:

Alphabet (basic recognition)

Phone numbers (reading)

Addresses (basics)

Question phrase: "What is your...?"

Objectives:

Students will recognize and identify most letters of the alphabet.

Students will understand and read simple phone numbers.

Students will understand the basic format of addresses.

Students will ask and answer the question "What is your...?" using basic personal information.

 Materials:                                                                             Screen-shared presentation with textbook :                     

Alphabet chart                                                  

Simple phone number and address examples                     

Pictures representing personal information  (name, phone, country, etc.                                                         

Introduction Station (10 minutes):                                    Introduce the question "What is your...?" using screen-shared pictures (e.g., "What is your name?").                                         

Model a short introduction using the picture and answering your own question.                                                          

Phone & Address Express (10 minutes):                                 Share screen-shared examples of simple phone numbers and addresses with clear labels.

Briefly explain the basic format of phone numbers and addresses ( country code, city, etc.), and the difference between Japan and the U.S.

Wrap-up & Share Time (5 minutes):

Briefly review the key points: alphabet, phone numbers, addresses, and "What is your...?" question.

Encourage students output for vocabulary and sentences for comprehension confirmation by talking about

themselves, sharing their name and one other piece of information (e.g., country, hobby).
