Basic Phonics for Kids, Part 1
Description
Did you know that short term memory can only hold about 7 pieces of information? This lesson covers the sounds of the vowels E, I and O, as well as the consonants P, G, D and T
We will start with a familiar song; Old Mc Donald Had a Farm.
Using the animals in the song as an example, we will make clear the difference between a letter's name and the sound it makes.
After some pronunciation practice, we will play a few games, such as searching the house for items whose names start with our selected letters, and then use our flash cards to play 'the mystery word game' and figure out how to spell short words such as Dog, Pig, Dot, Pet, Top, etc.
Colouring pages will be provided before the lesson with which you can make the flashcards at home, or bring your own.
