Authentic Materials Reading
Reading and interpreting information from genuine sources. For intermediate or higher level students.
Description
Hi there! Thank you for showing interest in this lesson.
During this 45 minutes class we will read a piece of information from an authentic source and discuss it.
The information may come from a variety of sources such as:
- newspapers;
- reports and articles;
- books and movies reviews;
- different web sites;
- product reviews and more.
Target learners: Intermediate or higher
Skills covered: Reading
Sub skills: Vocabulary
The flow of the lesson: We'll start by reading a text (a piece of news, a review etc.) After that I will ask you to retell it in your own words. We'll also focus on the vocabulary and structures used in the original text. In the end I will ask you some topic related questions and provide a quick outline of your strenghts and weaknesses.
If you have something specific in mind that you would be like to read and discuss, please let me know and I will design a lesson targeting your needs.
